Meet the Herbalist
Ari Viana is a clinical herbalist, educator and an alumni of the Arbor Vitae School of Tradicional Herbalism, located in New Paltz, NY, where she completed a 3 year Clinical Herbalism and Mentorship program.
Born and raised in Brazil, as a little girl she was always immersed in nature and her love and curiosity about the plants followed her throughout her life. Always being offered herbal remedies as a child by family members, it was no surprise that when she had a family of her own she felt compelled to care about for them in the same manner, which is what led her down the path of clinical herbalism.
With a passion for knowledge, she aims to educate and make an herbalist out of each client, helping them take control of their health by teaching them about the plants and their actions and how to make their own remedies.
When she's not wearing her herbalist hat, she can be found spending time with her daughters, continuing her education or helping her husband with his hardwood flooring business, Floors By Danny D LLC.
Why Clinical Herbalism?
Benefits of having 1 -1 Consultations
Clinical Herbalism is a more specialized practice of herbalism which requires professional education with specific clinical application and training. In general, clinical herbalism focuses on the study of anatomy, basic biochemistry and phytochemistry, traditional uses of herbs, herbal formulation, specific diseases and imbalances, symptom pattern assessment and clinical tools for supporting wellness with herbs.
Just as every human being is different, so are the herbs. They have different energetics and actions and the importance of an herbal consultation is to find out as much about you as an individual so we can pair you up with the best herbs in accordance to your constitution and disharmonies and come up with a protocol that is feasible and designed specifically for you with your preferences and budget in mind.
The initial consultation will last about 1.5 - 2 hours and we will go over your intake form and talk about you, your circumstances, your lifestyle and how you feel physically, emotionally and spiritually so we can address your concerns from the root causes. Looking at the bigger picture and not just trying to tackle symptoms gives us a chance to really help improve your quality of life and help your body and mind find balance and function to best of its ability. Within 7 days of the initial consultation, you will receive a protocol with food, lifestyle and herbal recommendations as well as sources where everything can be purchased.
Follow-Up consultations usually last up to 45 minutes and happen 4-6 weeks after the initial consultation. This is where we check in and see what worked, what didn't, make any changes or adjustments accordingly and address any new concerns you may have. Additional recommendations will be received within 7 days.
Consultations may be done in person at our location, virtually via Zoom or house calls in your home.
Initial Consultation: $150
- Includes 20-30 minute phone call after receiving protocol to go over recommendations together. This is a perfect time to make any final changes.
Follow-Up: $75
⁃ Please note any follow-up that exceeds 45 mins will be charged a full consultation price of $150.
